Robert E. Boyce has practiced criminal law in San Diego for over forty years. He is an AV rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell's AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating and is certified by the State Bar of California as a Criminal Law Specialist. He has been listed in the Woodward and White publication “Best Lawyers in America” as one of the best criminal defense lawyers in San Diego for over 10 years.

Mr. Boyce has represented clients charged with serious felonies in California state and federal courts, including death penalty and murder cases, and sex offenses. He has tried over 200 state and federal jury trials to verdict. He has obtained acquittals after jury trial for clients charged with serious felony offenses, including murder, rape and child molestation. He has represented individuals accused of crimes in a number of high profile cases in San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.

Mr. Boyce frequently lectures about criminal justice issues to bar associations and other groups of lawyers. Mr. Boyce taught Evidence Practice as an adjunct professor of law at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law.

He has served on the boards and is a past president of both the Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Club of San Diego and the Criminal Defense Bar Association of San Diego. He has been elected to the Board of Governors for the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice multiple times.

Mr. Boyce was awarded the 2010 E. Stanley Conant award by the Defenders’ Organizations of San Diego, recognizing him as a defense attorney dedicated to protecting the rights of the accused.
